Man Who ‘Liked’ His Own Facebook Wanted Post Arrested
By David Raven, April 29, 2015
I told him, never “like” your own Facebook posts. Just looks douchey. Social media is me-centered enough as it is and the trolls will tear you apart for it.
And I guess, you know, “like” the wrong post and it could get you arrested.
I’ve been working with him on his social strategy. Trying to spruce up his personal brand. It’s all part of a larger plan to help him connect with and build his tribe.
He has a unique point of view and if he sticks with it and does what I tell him, he will find like-minded people out there. I guess he’ll meet some in the chow line too. Nothing wrong with a holistic approach that combines social media tactics with old-school brick-n-mortar-n-bars tactics.
Now this jail thingy, it’s a not problem for our strategy. Really, I think it fits with where we’re trying to take his brand. We just need to pivot, refine our strategy and adjust our kpi’s. Maybe look at how we can maximize earned, paid, organic and stolen media.
Honestly, we’re so early in this process that everything we’re discovering now is simply our baseline. Besides it’s not about he breadth of the audience he wants to reach, it’s about the quality of the people he’s reaching and their stickiness to his brand.
I wonder: Will he have Internet access in prison? Because if he can blog from inside, then maybe we can do some cell block A/B testing, see what feedback we get from the yard.
