WEATHERLY, PA — A newlywed bride was forced to retrieve her husband’s rented tuxedo from the local jail after he was arrested shortly following their wedding ceremony.

Police say Todd Sadefar was wanted on two domestic relations warrants and two traffic citations, ABC affiliate WNEP-TV reports. Police were tipped off that the 42-year-old was getting married at the Salem UCC Church, 40 miles Northwest of Allentown, Pa.

Officers made the arrest shortly after Sadefar said “I do.” The groom was not allowed to stay for his wedding’s reception, and his wife had to go to the Carbon County Prison to retrieve his rented tux.

Him getting pinched, it made for an awkward reception, I shit you not.
Take the bride and groom’s first dance. Just her out there in the middle of dance floor doing the twist all by herself to Chuck Berry’s My Ding-A-Ling.
And every time somebody rung a water glass with a knife, calling for a kiss, the bride just sat there by herself at the head table, trying to smile.
You ask me, she did a good job of not crying. At least up to the point she couldn’t take it no more and yelled “You want a kiss? Ya’ll can kiss my big white ass!” then flipped the bird to the whole reception hall. Understandable.
So when it came time to remove her garter, I stood in for the absent and incarcerated groom. Figured it was my duty as best man.
Same goes for the honeymoon. I’m looking forward to Dollywood. Figure it’s only right that I accompany her on some nice R&R, if you know what I mean.
Him getting thrown in on their wedding day, it’s not all bad. Not for nothing, at least he before they carted him off he got to see her in that dress she paid all that money for.
I’m guessing it was his ex who tipped off the cops about his whereabouts and nuptials. A woman who’d do something like that to a guy, well it’s self-evident why he’d divorce her.
Not to be all about me, but the whole situation made my best man’s toast a little awkward. Hard to talk about a guy’s qualities when the entire wedding party’s just seen him handcuffed at the alter.
But let’s be clear: He’s got locked up for a domestic relations warrant, money issues. Not domestic abuse. He’s a stand up guy, a real lover of women. At least until they start in with the nagging about getting a job and picking up after yourself and all that horseshit. You know how they do.
So anyways, if you haven’t got them a wedding present yet, bail money would make for a good gift. Not sure if that was on their registry but I’m sure they could use it.
Which reminds me, we gotta get them tuxes back so’s we don’t get a late penalty.
Funny thing is, the night of his bachelor party he and I was sitting up near the stage at the strip club and he yelled to me over the music that he wasn’t sure why in the hell he was getting hitched again. Said marriage was just a prison.
I’ll ask him if he still feels that way when she and I go visit him in joint.
