Pair spent two days ‘locked’ in (unlocked) closet

A Florida man and woman spent two days trapped in what they said they believed to be a locked closet — until police let them out and discovered that the door was actually never locked.

John Arwood, 31, and Amber Campbell, 25, claimed they were chased into a janitor’s closet at  Daytona State College in Daytona Beach, Fla., by unidentified assailants on Sunday, according to  the Daytona Beach Police Department’s report.

The pair waited two days in the closet before calling 911.

Police officers found the couple in the Marine and Environmental Science Center on Dec. 30.

After they opened the door for the woman and man, a police officer checked if the door would  lock on the inside.

Police said they found in the closet human feces and a scouring pad, the latter of which is commonly used to smoke crack cocaine. No drugs were found.

Arwood and Campbell were charged with trespassing. Campbell was also charged with violating her probation.

Arwoood’s criminal record includes armed burglary and theft of firearms.

Don’t know about you, but I work for a goddamned living. I’m a scouring pad.  Cleaning up messes, the toughest, baddest ass messes. S’what I do.

That said, ain’t no way even I can wipe away these two nasty messes. Look it, trapped in an unlocked closet…for TWO DAYS.  Not one day. TWO DAYS.

And a neck tattoo on the soft part of the throat? I’m like, damn, who does that?

Did I mention it was TWO DAYS we all spent together? Kept wanting to scream at ‘em, “C’mon, crackheads, just give the knob a jiggle, would ya?”

‘Course I didn’t because I’m a scouring pad and can’t talk, let alone raise my voice. But how does a person not think to try the doorknob?

I mean, one fool shitting up a closet ought to be enough motivation for the other fool in that closet to give the doorknob at least a desperation twist.

Hell, could be a lockdown, air-tight Federal Reserve bank vault in and if someone next to me drops their pants, squats and starts growing a tail, I know I’m spinning those lock tumblers like I’m leading the USC marching band with a baton.

All this is crazy, sure. But to me, here’s the truly insane part: These two, not smart enough to, you know, try the door…but damn sure industrious enough to figure out how to use my bristly ass like a makeshift screen to smoke their rock? Them some clever crackheads, right there!

I guess this is your brain on drugs: Too stupid to try the obvious, yet somehow lubricated enough to expand the uses of a common household cleaning product. Hey, Proctor & Gamble! Got two new product managers for your junior executive training program right here.

Did I mention TWO DAYS? Damn.
